I’m looking to work from home, but alot of businesses ask for money ahead and I am really worried I will be losing money and time with them.
There are a lot of them out there. But you have to remember that the legitimate ones that have associated start-up fees are charging you to start a business. It’s just like buying a traditional franchise. Try starting a McDonald’s without ponying up some cash up front.
That being said, my wife and I bought our own home based franchise a few months ago and we love it. The start up fee was negligible and the market is hot, growing 23% faster than the global economy.

The reality is that if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Do you know people who don’t want to work from home??? Probably not. The industry picks on desperate people and says things like "I can help you … just send me a check" and people do… day in and day out… and that keeps them in business. It’s the people like you that gets stuck. STOP. You can work at home like known business have throughout history… ebay, coca cola, trump corporation, lillian vernon, mary kay cosmetics, dell computers, microsoft…. they all started at home and so can you. What’s important is to know what you can and cannot do. Find a need and fill it. Run a legimate business. The rest will fall into place. Whatever product or service you offer can make you alot of money but run it with integrity and be the best in the industry. You won’t have to find customers… they will find you!!!

It is really interesting that every time I encounter a question similar to your, to see all of the "fantastic" opportunities that crop up as answers!
That is why I personally believe that ALL work-at-home offers are scams or come-ons. If it were true, why would they be so generous in offering their market to you and invite you to compete with them? No one is that generous.
The genuine work-at-home jobs are obtained through building up your own home-based business from scratch, and they involve LOTS of hard work, many hours a week – well in excess of regular jobs.
