What is the best home-based business to join?

I’d like to do start a home-based business. Which one has brought you the most success?

You need to find something that you believe in and sale a product that everyone needs and is in high demand. The income opportunity is incredible. Most home based business cost under $500. Some cost more depending on what it is you want to do. I don’t know what you like to do, so I can only tell you what my husband and I started over six years ago and point you out to some others to take a look at. Ours well supports our family of six. We have four children ages 10, 6, 3 and 1.
We got involved in the telecommunications industry with a world wide company that’s over 15 years old. We’ve been featured in several magazines Inc 500 rated us the 22nd fastest growing company. They offer services that people use every day and pay for anyway, but now they can have a lower cost. Services such as local and long distance phones, Internet, digital phones, video phones (you can see the person your taking to live)VOIP, Satellite TV, and all the major cellular phone companies like Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Alltell, Nextell etc. have partnered up with them too.
How many people do you know, or know of, that uses one or more of these services? How would you feel if you could save people money on services that they’re already using, or offer them services that they don’t have but want? Every time they pay their bills each month, you make a percentage off these bills every single month. Huge income opportunity. It’s incredible how much money is involved in this industry.
I highly suggest Contacting Douglas B for more information on this one. He has a very successful business in this industry and can help you a lot.

I also created a blog on my 360 page on home based business’s. There’s over half a dozen different ones to take a look at. People that I know that are successful home based business owners. Your more then welcome to browse through them. If you find one that’s interesting, contact the person who wrote it and they can point you out in the right direction.

Hope this gives you a few ideas!
Tiffany

One where the product is something you love and use. It is so easy to talk about and sell things that you can relate to. You don’t have to use everything, but don’t use a grocery store brand instead of your own.

Be faithful to your company. Understand that in business there are problems once in a while. It is not the end of the world. Just work around it for the time being.

Make sure to look at requirements that are expected of you and the cost to get started. Low cost is not necessarily better than higher cost. Look at what is included with that cost.

Know that it is going to require some hard work especially in the beginning and probably some additional expense, like supplies (pens, paper, business cards). It’s your business so treat it like a business.

Bottom Line: If you do something that you are going to enjoy you will make money!

I’m a stay at home mom and I sometimes sell on eBay to make extra cash.

I’ve tried all kinds of websites (i.e Doba) to sell online for some extra cash but it didn’t work out for me.

Theirs one site that I still use that has no upfront fees and is actually making me some money.I found that if I list at least 10 items a day I’ll be making at the least $80-$100 a day. Maybe you should check the website out, its self explanatory.

    Hello,
I love answering questions like this. I run five home-based businesses. I am an Online Travel Agent, a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant, a Pampered Chef Cooking Consultant, a Partylite Candle Consultant, and a Pure Romance Consultant.
Of these five businesses, the travel business has brought me the most success, but I enjoy each of them immensely. If you would be interested in learning more, go to my Y!A profile and send me a personal email.
    Best to you!

Health and wellness industry keeps growing and growing. With ITV ventures you can sell products backed my actual scientific research. The best part is that customers calls you. ITV airs infomercials and the calls are sent straight to your home. A great unique system. View some of the infomercials you could be taking calls on at:

Find a product or service that everyone needs and will use. What conserns people and is in the news everyday. Research these companies, how long they have been in business, pay plan, what they offer for support and training. Timing is everything when looking for a product or service. Then ask yourself how much time, money, and effort you are willing to invest. Do you want a residual income, making money when you sleep, or just on your own time and effort? I have had great success with lia sophia jewelry. It is a home party business, so we go to parties, set out a jewelry display, answer some questions, write up orders and get paid! The initial investment is very low (only $150) and we typically make that back as soon as we hold our first party.

We have a great support system with free training. Of course we get tons of free jewelry as well as a generous 30% commission. We have a party sale average of $750, so working a few nights a week is a great income. On top of that, we have great rewards from the company. I am leaving next month for a free trip to Hawaii with a bunch of my friends who also won!

After eight years of owning a "real business" a franchise with rent, employees, and hundreds of regular customers, I sold it to do this instead. I make more money, set my own hours and have unlimited income potential. My personal website has other details. Feel free to check it out. http://www.liasophia.com/vision

I would imagine everyone who responds would say there own as they should. I love what I do. I didn’t research too many home based businesses because I wasn’t interested in selling anything I sort of feel into it by accident. I used Mary Kay products for years and after having children I wanted to make a living without the constraints of a traditional job What I love most about the Mary Kay business is the control and balance in my life I have now. You control you schedule your income and your life style, your finances and your future.
In looking at a home based business the question I would ask would be is it a consumable product will you get reorder business or always looking for new? What is the commission pay and how do you earn that percent some company’s you earn by sales and some by recruiting ( I did do some research over the years and found MK to be one of the best). Most importantly do you love the product and do you use it yourself. As women it is natural to tell someone about something we love this makes it easy to sell. I don’t even refer to it as selling anymore it is sharing I share the products and I share the opportunity.

I’m not sure what kind of interests you have but it may be an option for you to consider. I’d be happy to send you some info if you’d like and can help you get started for free. I don’t want to to break any of the yahoo rules, so if you’re intereseted in hearing more, my contact info is on my profile.

You’ve received a lot of good comments and many links to various opportunities. I too will add mine.

Let me share with you a little of my experience and add my two cents worth. I have previously worked with Amway, Nutrimetics and Essential Additions. All of these companies are highly respected and successful and I still know many people who operate very profitable businesses with these companies. They are not for me because, amongst other reasons, they required me to leave my home, whether it be for meetings or party plan type selling, and I am no longer in a position to do that.

As for what is the best home based business, often I think it’s a matter of person choice, what your circumstances allow you to do, what you are prepared to do and so on.

There are many businesses opportunities advertised on the internet, many of them legitimate, successful businesses, many of them not!

It takes diligence to weed out what’s what.

Without intending to pin tickets on myself, I consider myself a reasonably well educated person with professional training and life experience behind me, but……..

I have been ‘taken for a ride’ with a couple of online opportunities offering much and providing little – or less – nothing. I lost money when I could least afford it and I became very angry.

Having said that, I was also desperate to improve my financial situation and being a ‘suddenly single’ mother of four who has health issues, I felt that home based business was the only way to go.

So, I started researching – DETERMINED NEVER TO BE SCAMMED AGAIN.

In short, here’s what I’ve discovered:

For any business to be legitimate, it must offer either a product or a service. If it doesn’t offer product or service then it is a scam and illegal.

Be aware of get rich quick schemes – there is no such thing. Any legitimate business takes work and effort on your part and requires building. It takes time to build the foundations of any venture – how much time is dependent on your own efforts and relatively speedy advancement is certainly achievable if you are prepared to put in the hours. (As the saying goes, if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is.)

Ensure the organization offers full support and training. It’s easy to sign someone up for a business but it takes commitment and effort on the part of the enroller to train and support you in your efforts. Make sure you are not going to outlay your money and then be left with no communication or help.

And speaking of money – determine how much the business is going to cost you to get started and what that fee actually gets you. If it only gets you permission to view a certain website then I’d seriously think again.

It is reasonable to expect some start-up and on-going costs in a legitimate business – no such thing as a free lunch – but determine, not only how much is will cost you to start but more importantly, what your ongoing costs will be. A business may be low cost to start but then require an outlay of thousands of dollars each month to qualify you for your pay.

Don’t be forced, convinced, badgered or ‘talked into’ committing to a cost which is above your budget, no matter what the apparent ‘limited’ offer may be. Many scammers offer you a reduced price but ‘only for today’ for instance. If a prospective business partner is not prepared to help you achieve success without causing you undue financial stress, then I’d be steering way clear. You know how much money you have to invest in your business, whether that me $50, $500, $1500 or more. Anyone offering you a business opportunity should be able to cater to your budget to a certain degree.

Ensure than any organisation you are looking at joining is listed with the Direct Selling Association. Direct Selling and Multi Level Marketing businesses are very legitimate and legal and are certainly not pyramid. Pyramid schemes are illegal. MLM and Direct Selling businesses are very, very profitable if conducted in the correct way. Check the company’s Compensation Plan to see what benefits you are entitled to and how teams are structured. This is very important as some team structures result in a high attrition rate, which benefits no-one.

I am currently involved in my own very successful home business and whilst it is not my intention necessarily to promote my own business here, I encourage you to visit my website and also another link which I will post here – You will find further links on what to look for in a home based business.

If you are serious, and I only work with people who are committed, I would love you speak with you, (just fill out the form on my website), as I know first hand that our business is achievable with full of support and training (personal training too by the way – not just website links albeit we do use the web and email as a fantastic communication tool). Our business markets revolutionary and patented health and wellness products. There is no necessity to sell or stock product, to cold call or to pester your family and friends to get started. I operate my business purely online thus far but have other options open to me should I choose. Check out the links and decide for yourself if you would like to contact me further. The choice, as always, is yours.

Regardless of whether you choose to contact me or not, I hope this information has been helpful. I understand how daunting it can be starting something new especially when the internet can make opportunities appear so intangible. I wish you well in your search and in any venture you decide to undertake.

    With Best Regards,
