i need suggestions for a home based business?
I’m wanting to start a home based business but I’m not sure what business would be best. I want the business to be profitable, but it can’t be to overwhelming in the beginning because I work a demanding night job. Any suggestions?
I have plenty of suggestions for a home based business. From your detailed message it sounds like your intimidated about a time factor? One of the benefits of owning a home based business, is that you put in what time you have to do so. If you only have a few hours a week, then that’s what you do. It’s good to have more then that, but some people are very limited on what time they can or can’t put into it because of a full time job, family or whatever. Home based businesses are designed for just that. Building a business on the side of what your currently doing at your own pace. most people work a home based business on the side, when their income level reaches a comfortable income level, then they put their jobs down. In my personal opinion and based on experience, this is the best way to go. You never want to jump into a business without something to back your income. If you quit your job before your income is sufficient, then you’ve pretty much bit the hand off that fed you. Businesses takes time to build. They don’t happen over night. With your demanding night job you mentioned, You could either work your business before you went to work, or when you got back before going to bed. The business is yours, so the time you choose to build it, is your choice.
That’s pretty much what my wife and I did. Started a business on the side. When it reached the income level we needed, we put our jobs down and just have our business from home. You don’t have to do that. If you want both streams of income, you can do that. I’m just letting you know what we did.
You want to choose a business that has a product or a service that is in high demand. I would avoid things that are seasonal or you really need to budget your income. With the way the economy is going, I suggest you get into a business where you don’t have to worry about people not purchasing your products and or services because they can run to the nearest drug store, grocery store or even a dollar store and buy the same type of product (but not necessarily the "brand name") in order to save money. Not everyone can afford high priced make up, or items. People will run to a store, purchase items cheaper when money gets tight. Happens all the time.

Everyone is always going to have some sort of telecommuncations system, rather it’s a land line, Internet, digital or video phone, television, cellular phone etc. When money gets tight, they will put down some item that they may just love, but they’re not going to get rid of their cellular phone, or Internet connection. This would be the last thing that they’d get rid of.
In this industry, you can help people save money on existing services that they have, and offer them new services that they don’t have. You do this from your home. One way you get paid in this business is everytime these people pay their bills each month, the companies gives you a percentage.
I think the best company of them all that I suggest you look into in this industry is a 15 year old company that’s the largest direct selling telecommunications service provider in the world. Your not limited to acquiring services just in the United States either. World wide. Donald Trump has endorsed this company, uses the product and is highly involved in the company. They’ve been featured in several magazines like USA Today, Success, Fortune etc. Inc 500 rated them the 22nd fastest growing company. Any cooker cutter answer you get will most likely fail because the market is probably flooded with people doing the same thing. What you need to do is find a need in your area (or larger if you have the means to take on a larger scale), and figure out how to fix it for money.
Most people succeed when the need has something to do with what they love.. Example. Bob likes golfing and hates his job. He notices that there is probably a better way to make golf carts, so he designs the perfect golf cart and puts it to market. He has a better chance of being successful because he is working close to his passion of golf.
If you are like me, and you have a hard time coming up with good ideas, read some business books on creativity and innovation.

He is basically a travel agent-gets huge discounts on travel and everyone that books on his site-equal or cheaper from the searches I’ve done- to the well known sites, he gets commission on. It’s rather exciting but you need to know some people that would also be interested in it for it to make enough money to live on. BTW-everyone that is interested in doing this and signs up under you makes you money too for them signing up AND people that book on their site gets you commission too. Crazy!

I am a single mom and had to find something I can do on my own time and I wasted tons of hours and even some money trying to find online jobs. I found most to be scams, unfortunaley 🙁
I talked to a Dog Breeder who signed me up to buy Natrual Dog Food for my Labrador and I loved it and than decided to sell Natrual Pet Food myself. Kind of like Mary Kay but not as stressful.
It is not an easy quick money scam. It requires work, but you can do it on your own hours and actually make a decent income.
I distribute business cards, flyers, talk to Pet Rescues, Breeders, Trainers and Vets etc.
Also do some online marketing.
This is the only thing that really worked for me.

Like the poster said above. Find something that people need and read on how to sell it. Finding something everyone uses would be even better. I found one that people will pay for every month regardless if they got a pay cut or if times were hard. Recession proof products work like a charm.
Your business will only grow if you put time/effort into it. You can’t really expect your business to grow if you just dabble in it.
