Does anyone know how advertise on the internet for free or at a low cost?
I want to start up an internet business that I can do. I am not interested in Network/Multi-level marketing. I have Sickle Cell Anemia and I need to do something at home. I am in the process of creating business cards to sell over the internet. These cards are Christian focused. I am also reaching royalty-free business clip-art to create business cards.
If there is anyone who could mentor me in any small-home based business, I would be very thankful. If you teach a man to fish, then he will never go hungry again. If there is anyone who can give me some advise on how to advertise on the internet. I do not have much money. If any one can give me some advice, I would be very appreciative.

The trouble with selling a product over the Internet is that the barriers to entry are pretty low and you face a lot of competition UNLESS you can effectively differentiate yourself from what everyone else is selling.
Not only does your product need to be different, but it also needs to sound different (and appealing!) so that when people see your businesses name, or a tiny image of what it is your selling, they’ll be interested enough to learn more and maybe even interested enough to make a commitment.
First step is to set up a web site. It costs a lot less than you think, and if gives you your own unique identity on the internet — it also makes you seem more legitimate to your potential customers. At this stage of the game it doesn’t need to be the fanciest web site in the world but it should (as much as you can) capture the essence of who you are, what you’re selling, and the spirit in which you are selling it (in your case, samples of your product).
One of the most important ways to "be seen" on the Internet is to think about the keywords that potential customers might use to find products such as your own. For example, what happens if you type "christian business cards" into Google? What keywords are most relevant to your product? As you write the text for your web site, keep these words in mind, and try to get them into your text a reasonable amount of time. That will help your web site rise in importance and improve the odds of people "finding" your web site when they do a search.
You can also buy advertising. Personally, I would look at Google’s adword advertising since with the right set of keywords it doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg — and you only have to pay for the people who click through to your site.
Certainly, you should submit the address of your web site to as many search engines and directories as possible. And you should look for web sites that serve as clearinghouses for information about products such as what you’re offering. For example, some sites might specialize in identifying interesting and unique products for christians. Make sure they are aware of your unique product and see if they’ll promote you on their site.
If you want to motivate them, you could offer to pay them a commission every time one of the people they refer to your site buys something. There is a lot of information online about affiliate programs.
