Anyone aware of any legitimate home based businesses today to get involved in?

I am currently looking to start a business in which I can eventually quit my job. My company has been going through some changes and I am not comfortable with what I see. I am looking to start a business that is truly legitimate and would be able to eventually be to a point where not only I can quit my job, but to have my wife come home as well.

all of them so far will pay very little and will require you to work many hours to make it float. it is extremely hard to start a business and make it profitable. you should expent a very small salary at the end of the year, barery enough to cover your own expenses after you’ve spent most of your money on the business.

i would say go into sales instead where you have the freedom to work at odd hours and get a steady paycheque., then maybe buy an already existing business that makes money and you can slowly transition into it. starting something from scratch is nearly impossible with no investors, funds, savings, help, resources etc.

all small-home based businesses will eat up your free time and provide very little pay, i know this from experince.

how about you get a part time job in the evenings to bring in some cash without the huge responsibility of a carrying a business?

    Hi Ralph!

I’m a consultant for a company that you’ve probably heard of – the Pampered Chef. The company has been around for over 30 years and is definitely a legitimate business opportunity. I’ve worked in business and as a teacher and was surprised to find that Pampered Chef treats me and my family with more respect than either of my previous jobs. I was also surprised with the extent of training and support, both local and from the national office, that is available to the consultants.

It is very inexpensive to start up a Pampered Chef business – $155 for the kit – and many new consultants start making a profit immeadately. I chose to do things a little differently and didn’t start making a profit for a few months. My Dad taught me "you have to spend money to make money" so I chose to make some investments that would help build my customer base quickly. I also had a baby right after I started so I didn’t work consistantly during that time. Now that I’m really focusing on the business I am making some money. My next step is to earn more than just commissions by building a team.
