cheap marketing for home business?

I have a home based tutoring business (tutors go to student’s home–the business part is done from my home office) and want to know how to market the business affordably to get more clients.

Perhaps you can contact your local schools (high schools/colleges) and see if you can talk to their career center counselors, special education department, department heads, etc. I would imagine that these people could direct a lot of customers your way…these are kids and parents of kids who are focused enough on getting an education that they will fork over the dough to get the help they need to succeed. Of course, if you’ll be working with underage students and your tutors are adults, you will likely need to jump through some legal hoops…federal/criminal background checks, etc.
