Any body have good small business ideas?
My Uncle has taken a buy out from the company he was working for, and wants to take the money and open a business. What are some good small business / franchise ideas?
There are so many small businesses out there that he can look into. You’ll get a lot of different ideas here on yahoo to look into. When I was looking for a small business, someone suggested this blog from yahoo on small businesses that you can run out of your home. Your Uncle would have the same income opportunity as a traditional business, but without all the over head expenses. Most home based businesses are businesses within a business, just like if you were to buy into McDonalds, but they cost a fraction of the amount as going into business with McDonald’s. Here’s a blog that has over half a dozen different industries to take a look at. I’m sure it will give you a lot of ideas to give to your Uncle as it gave me.

It all depends on where you are looking to open this business. It has to be appealing to the people in the area to be successful.

Lunch places are always popular in commercial or industrial areas. I see some around which have been there practically since the Paleolithic era — fast, simple, inexpensive lunches for dine-in or take-out, and then open for dinner with sports on t.v. Maybe breakfast if he thinks people would be interested.
Since those zones are also dead on weekends and after about 7:00pm, he could limit his hours so he doesn’t have to be there 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
